Not Soon Shaken

Writer's picture: Apostle Jim MaddoxApostle Jim Maddox

In these perilous times that we are walking in right now there seems to be so many things that are chipping away at Faith. Fires on one continent, pestilence on another, global pandemic disease along with economic unrest, are just some of the things that are daily challenging us as believers. The scripture in 2 Thes 2:2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. We must realize this is not just a suggestion but a call to have a settled spirit and not be moved by what is going on around us. Distraction is a tool that the devil resorts to when God is ready to advance the Church. Yes I said that it is a tool for when God is about to advance the CHURCH. At this present time with the covid-19 or corona virus barreling in on the planet we must realize this pestilence is not for the believer. Saints of God don't but the hype that is being spread faster than any virus. I can't say that I can explain this virus but I CAN explain God. We have power over all, All, ALL disease. Every disorder, birth defect, disease, or plague. I am not sure what about this that we don't understand as believers in the Powerful Name of Jesus.

I am persuaded that the alleged church has drifted away from the true vein truth through motivation, philosophy, and a feel good message. I used the word alleged describing the church because of the lack of proof. Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe, In my name shall they cast out devils, they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents, and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; THEY SHALL LAY HANDS ON THE SICK AND THEY SHALL RECOVER. If we don't see this then there is no proof that these are believers. We must get back to the POWER of God Word. These two scriptures from Mark 16:17-18 were the last words spoken directly face to face from Jesus with man.

Church we must develop ears to hear what the Spirit is saying to the Church. This is the only way to get back to the God of the Bible. Isaiah 58 gives a clear pattern of returning to Gods true presence. True presence not just a feeling but the actual indwelling of God with all of the power and authority that goes with that. There will then be a clearness, pureness, and pristine nature of our Spirit man that will bring answers to this troubled world.

Revival is vital for the Church of today. A returning of the prodigal, a gleaning of the unsaved. The great unwashed are about to come into our Churches. Mohawks, tattoos, piercings, will be throughout our congregations and a great portion of the Church will reject what God has called in. God told Peter what I have cleansed let no man call common (Acts 10:15-16).
